Erik Buijs 🇳🇱

Erik Buijs asserts himself as a classical sculptor who does clay. His clay lumps are material processes of his thoughts that are constructed in such a way that the bronze caster can put a mold around them. The work does not have to meet more conditions in a material sense. They have to function in the environment for which they were made. The meaning of the image is carefully examined by Buijs and analyzed for the different interpretations that are evoked. He does not dwell on architecture any more than he imparts a museological character to his outdoor sculptures. He is neither an environmental artist nor an autonomous artist. He is a visual thinker who has risen from his thoughts. Le penseur has been devised and set to work.
