Wood is not in a hurry
The origin of my working method lies in my father’s workshop. From mechanically shaped parts as my father used as a furniture maker, I confront the mechanically worked material with organically sculpted forms.
A dialogue between natural growth forms and man-made forms appeals to impermanence-return to mother earth.
It also emphasises the temporary nature of things and reduces human intervention to a component within a process of existence. A self-enhancing mechanism with melancholic undertones,a confrontation through the use of nature on the one hand and degradation on the other. The origin, not only of wood, but the spiritual value of all that animates us, is thus emphasised.
