Konstantina Mavridou 🇬🇷

I was born in 1989 in Thessaloniki, Greece. In 2014 I moved to Amsterdam and it has become my home and the place where I pursue life & art. I have graduated from Unstable Media DOGTIME programme at Gerrit Rietveld Academie. I am also a trained mathematician. It’s where I draw much input for my art & aesthetic development. I am interested in creating spaces where the relation between spectator – object is lost, always within an invisible but active system of connections. Through this lost relationship, my aim is to provide a space of reflection on how we think and act within the multiple social structures around us. The invisibility of the system cannot be entirely understood or seen, therefore a new way of seeing is needed which would reconnect us with the environment around us via understanding of the invisible in between dynamics & behaviours. Art has the ability to see beyond ‘Aristotelian’ rules and to propose new ways of understanding of the contemporary world. In conclusion, art could play a crucial role at this Renewed Becoming of Public Space, a topos of endiamesa (ενδιάμεσος τόπος), by providing experiential and innovative ways – artistic and cross-discipline enquiries that could enable new hybrid encounters and relationships, involving multiple entities – of forming that becoming space, towards an improved social well-being and justice within the flux of multiplicities of echo-logies.
